Chickpeas - Australian
Our Premium Australian chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a versatile, nutrient-packed legume with a mild, nutty flavor and a creamy yet firm texture. Perfect for a wide range of culinary uses, these preservative-free chickpeas can be sprouted, boiled, roasted, added to salads, soups, curries, or puréed for delicious dips like hummus. With their rich nutrient profile, they make a wholesome addition to any meal.
How to Use:
To prepare, soak the chickpeas in plenty of water for at least 8 hours or overnight. After soaking, rinse them thoroughly and place in a pot with water at a 1:3 ratio. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat for around 50 minutes, or until tender enough to be easily broken apart with a fork.
Avoid adding salt during cooking, as it can toughen the outer layer. Cooked chickpeas are perfect for salads, soups, curries, and hotpots, or mash them to thicken both savory dishes and sweet desserts. Once boiled, you can roast them for a crunchy, flavorful snack, coating them with spices like sumac, turmeric, or chili for extra flavor.
Gluten-free and packed with nutrients, chickpeas are a great option for lunchboxes, salad toppings, or entertaining. Store cooked chickpeas in the refrigerator for up to one week.
