Brown Basmati Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown basmati rice
- 2 ½ cups water (or vegetable broth for more flavor)
- ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse 1 cup of brown basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a saucepan, bring 2 ½ cups of water (or vegetable broth) to a boil.
- Add the rinsed rice and a pinch of salt (optional) to the boiling water.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 35-40 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes to allow the rice to steam.
- Fluff the rice with a fork before serving. Optional: For added flavor, sauté the rice briefly before adding water, or infuse with your choice of herbs or spices.
