How to cook black rice
Ingredients:
1 cup black rice
2 ½ cups water or broth (for more flavor)
Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions:
Rinse 1 cup of black rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
Boil 2 ½ cups of water or broth in a medium pot, adding a pinch of salt if desired.
Add the rice to the boiling water, stir once, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cover the pot and let the rice cook for 45 minutes, or until tender and the water is absorbed.
Turn off the heat, let the rice rest covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork before serving.
