Premium Arborio Rice – Perfect for Creamy Risotto

Elevate your Italian dinner nights with this premium Arborio Rice, known for its short, round grains and distinct pearly outer layer. Arborio rice is packed with natural starch, making it ideal for absorbing liquids and flavours during cooking. The result? A rich, velvety risotto that’s sure to impress with every bite.

This variety originates from the Po River Valley in northern Italy and is known for its distinct short, round grains that retain a high starch content, making it ideal for creamy risottos and other Mediterranean dishes like paellas and stuffed vegetables.

Ingredients & Allergens

Ingredients: Arborio Rice

No known allergens.
May contain traces of gluten, nuts, and sesame due to processing in a facility that handles these ingredients.

Country of origin: Italy

Recipe & Usage

How to Cook:

1. In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter over medium heat.

2. Add 1 cup of Arborio rice and toast for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.

3. Slowly add 1 cup of warmed stock (vegetable, chicken, or beef), stirring continuously until the liquid is absorbed.

4. Repeat the process by adding 1 cup of stock at a time, stirring frequently. This ensures the rice absorbs the liquid and releases its natural starch, creating a creamy consistency.

5. Continue adding stock until the rice is tender but still slightly firm in the center (al dente), about 18-20 minutes.

6. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese or any desired toppings for extra flavour.

✍️ Pro Tip: Do not rinse the rice before cooking. Rinsing removes the starch that gives risotto its signature creamy texture.

Sustainability

Rice cultivation in Italy, particularly in the Po River Valley where Arborio rice originates, often incorporates traditional agricultural practices that support biodiversity and water conservation. Controlled flooding methods, for example, help manage water resources and improve soil health, which can be more sustainable compared to more intensive, modern farming techniques
