Quick Banana Walnut Bread Recipe:
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
1/2 cup melted butter or coconut oil
3/4 cup brown sugar or honey
1 large egg (beaten)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
1/2 cup chopped Aussie Raw Walnuts
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter or coconut oil.
Add the sugar (or honey), beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
Sprinkle in the baking soda and a pinch of salt, and stir again.
Gently fold in the flour until just combined – avoid over-mixing to keep the bread light and fluffy.
Stir in the chopped Aussie Raw Walnuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Sustainability
Sustainability
Walnuts are a naturally sustainable crop as walnut trees can thrive for over 100 years, providing a long-term source of food while helping to sequester carbon from the atmosphere.
These trees require less water compared to other nut trees like almonds, making walnuts a more water-efficient choice. Additionally, walnut trees support biodiversity by providing habitats for various species of wildlife, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.
