The product consists of high-quality Australian Mung Beans (also called green gram or moong). Mung beans are a food item used widely in Asia. There is a sweet taste to this small, olive-green bean. Mung beans are versatile and easy to use; sometimes they are sprouted; turned into a delicious sweet or savoury paste, or cooked whole and added to many different dishes.

How to use:

Mung beans are perfect for sprouting because they are so easy to sprout. 1/2-3/4 cup of beans should be soaked for 8 hours or overnight in cold water. After soaking, drain and rinse thoroughly. Then cover the beans with cloth or mesh. Put the jar on a 45o angle to allow for continued draining and airflow and secure the cloth with an elastic band. You should drain it twice per day. You can eat mung sprouts in about two days and keep them in the refrigerator for up to four days. Prepare Mung beans by soaking them in cold water for between two and four hours. You can use soaked beans directly in soups and hot pots. Prepare beans by draining and placing them in cold water. Cook for about 20-25 minutes at medium-low heat until tender. Veggie burgers, soups, salads, and hot pots are delicious when cooked with Mung beans. You can also make a tasty paste to add to steamed buns or mooncakes. Prepare a paste by blending cooked beans or sautéing pre-boiled beans in oil. Once paste forms, add sugar and water as needed. You can use the unsweetened paste for soups and stir-fries and many other recipes.
