Red Kidney Beans are one of the most popular legumes around the world and we bring you high quality Small Kidney Beans sourced from Canada. This small sized bean has a red outer shell and white interior. Kidney Beans are a key part of many vegetarian dishes and offer high nutritional value. The mild flavour and creamy texture of Kidney Beans is also perfect for adding them to soups and chillies. If you are a vegetarian than Small Kidney Beans are a great way to add flavour to your vegetarian recipes.

How to use:

Red Kidney Beans need to be softened before consumed. To soften Red Kidney Beans, before cooking they have to be soaked in cold water for up to 5 hours in a large bowl. Once the beans have been soaking for 5 hours they double in size and Lectin and Saponin is removed from them. Next you have to drain Red Kidney Beans and rinse them before adding them to a pot along with cold water to be boiled. Once the water starts to boil turn the heat down and let the beans cook for another 2 hours until they are soft and start to break easily. Once tender Red Kidney Beans can be eaten by adding them to soups, salads and can be used as a topping for baked potatoes. You can also use them in curries or other spicy dishes to enrich their flavours. However the most popular use of Red Kidney Beans is in Mexican burritos and enchiladas as a filling. You can also add Red Kidney Beans to vegetarian burger or grind them to be added to different spicy dips.
