Rolled Oats - Australian
Our Rolled Oats are Australian and have no added preservatives. These oats are pressed after they are steamed. Rolled oats have a mild sweet flavour with a subtle fresh aroma - nothing beats the smell of a bowl of porridge first thing in the morning. You can use our Rolled Oats for breakfast, dessert, and baked or raw treat preparation, making them a very useful pantry addition.
How to use:
Use rolled oats to make your own muesli or porridge for breakfast. For something simple add honey, maple syrup, and your favourite mix of nuts and chopped dried fruits. Spice such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and ginger go great with oats.
You can use rolled oats to make muesli bars, raw food snacks, and desserts such as energy balls and pressed pie bases. You can also use rolled oats to make Oat Mylk. To make - soak your oats in cold water (1:6) for 6 hours or overnight, add a pinch of salt and a date, honey or maple syrup if you like a little sweetness. Blend until smooth. Strain through a clean cloth, squeezing the oats, and refrigerate in an airtight container.
At Gram we don't like to waste a bit. Once you have finished straining the oats to make your oat milk use the leftover oat pulp to make cookies, pancakes or banana bread. If you are looking for a treat for your skin, oats have amazing calming properties. Use the oat pulp as a scrub or wrap cheese cloth and pop it in your bath.
Lastly, if you still have left overs - don't forget to compost!
