Simple Recipe – Rustic Rye Bread
Ingredients:
• 2 cups Rye Flour
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 packet (7g) dry yeast
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 1/4 cups warm water
• 1 tbsp olive oil
Method:
1. In a large bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, yeast, and salt.
2. Add the warm water, honey, and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
5. Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced).
6. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet. Let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
8. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
