Role Overview:

As a Kitchenhand at Gram Sustainable, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will involve assisting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and contributing to the creation of delicious, sustainable food offerings.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients

- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by following sanitation standards and regular cleaning schedules

- Support chefs during service by fetching and carrying items, ensuring they have what they need

- Handle basic cooking tasks under supervision, such as simple food assembly or heating

- Aid in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and labelling

- Collaborate with the team to maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed

- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times

Requirements:

- Passion for sustainability and eco-friendly practices

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist in multiple tasks

- Willingness to learn and take direction from the kitchen team

- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks

- Authorisation to work in Australia
