BULK FOODS CHEF
Join Gram Sustainable, a package-free grocery store pioneering sustainable shopping beyond recycling—where saying no to plastic is the norm. We're expanding and seeking a Bulk Foods Chef to lead and execute Gram Sustainable's private label bulk foods and packaged goods.
We're seeking a motivated, resourceful self-starter passionate about sustainability, capable of managing multiple projects. At Gram, we're not just selling groceries; we're fostering a movement around refill, celebrating delectable food and a shared love for our planet.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute product concepts for Grams' private label bulk goods
- Create innovative offerings featuring local or sustainable brands
- Source high-quality, sustainable ingredients while considering cost-effectiveness
- Conduct thorough recipe testing for optimal quality and taste
- Manage food production costs while ensuring affordability
- Stay updated on emerging food trends for product innovation
- Collaborate with leadership on inventory management and team coordination
What You Bring:
- Part-time/contract initially, with a goal of a full-time role
- 3+ years experience in menu development, catering, or culinary consulting
- Culinary Qualifications (preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Creativity and passion for culinary exploration
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Access to a commercial kitchen is a significant advantage
- Authorisation to work in the Australia
