Simple Seitan Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup Wheat Gluten
3/4 cup water or vegetable broth
2 tablespoons tamari sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions:

Combine Ingredients: Mix wheat gluten, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional spices in a bowl. Add water and tamari; mix until a dough forms.
Knead: Knead the dough on a flat surface for 2-3 minutes until elastic.
Shape: Form the dough into a loaf or desired shapes.
Cook: Choose one method:
Boil: Wrap in cheesecloth, and simmer in broth for 40-60 minutes.

Steam: Steam in a basket for 30-40 minutes.

Bake: Bake at 350°F for 60-75 minutes, flipping halfway.

Serve: Use your seitan in any recipe as a meat substitute. Enjoy!

Fluffy soft sifted clean white VWGF

First order, I took the risk, and ordered 4kg. I chose 8x 500g double paper bag lots, and sealed in 4 sustainable plastic alternative bags (as it's been raining and there are ants). They were delivered in a big box.
(The deliverer didn't ring the bell, as requested, so I didn't notice if they followed the instruction to not drive up my 'unsafe' damaged driveway. They didn't sit the box where requested, either.)
I've cooked two batches, and the flour is ... as expected. No spots, no insects, clean and white. Great result with seitan; despite me forgetting the microwave time setting, and having to rezap it. Vegan peking duck sauce and VWGF with a splash of water, microwaved, is too easy for something 'addictively' delicious.
